The Nexcare Opticlude Eye Patches, manufactured by 3M, protect the eye following minor surgery and are used for shielding the eye in occlusion therapy. These eye patches are designed for both youth and adults for a comfortable vision-occlusive therapy. The Opticlude Eye Patches have an oval shape that fits comfortable behind eye glasses. The eye patch stands off from the eye to permit free eyelid movement to be more comfortable for recovering eye patients. The Nexcare Oval Opticlude Eye Patch comes in a beige color.
Ideal for treating amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (crossed eyes), Nexcare Opticlude Eye Patches feature a gentle, hypoallergenic adhesive and highly breathable backing. These doctor-recommended orthoptic eye patches stick well and are easily removed. Built with a hypoallergenic adhesive, patients are subject to fewer risks of infections and irritations. Individuals with sensitive or tender skin benefit from the gentle adhesive used on the eye patch.
These high quality eye patches are easy to use! For best adhesion, first clean and dry skin around eye. Carefully peel the paper liner from the eye patch. Gently close both eyes keeping facial muscles relaxed. Do not close eyes so tightly wrinkles appear. Center eye patch over the affected eye with the narrow end toward the nose. Do not stretch or pull skin. Gently secure patch in place by pressing tape outward with light fingertip pressure. Replace eye patch according to physician's direction, when soiled, or when it no longer adheres. To remove eye patch: slowly peel edges toward the center of the eye. Gently push eye lid away from the patch.
